The Mintie Challenge By Kobe

This is Kobe's graph on the Mintie Challenge. He had to tear a mintie wrapper so that it wouldn't rip. See how long his wrapper was compared to the rest of the class

The Mintie Challenge By Kifi

On Wedensday Room 5 at Panmure Bridge School did a Mintie Challenge. We had to tear a Mintie Wrapper and see how long we could tear a Mintie Wrapper. Miss Kellett had the longest Mintie Wrapper and Henry had the shortest Mintie Wrapper. Miss Kellett's Wrapper was 1.12 m but Henry's was 19 cm. My mintie Wrapper was 50 cm but I still had alot of fun.

Rachel's was the longs mintie wrapper in the class
and Henry's was the shortest wrapper out of all of us.
Luckily I bet some people in our class.
It was a tie between Tyler and Dallas.

Making 3D Nets

This week we are investigating the 3D shapes. Today we made 3D nets out of paper and then we were partnered up to make a cube using kebab sticks / toothpicks and wine gums. Check out our movie and this rich maths activity. At the end of making the 3D cube, we had to measure one edge and then multiplied the number of edges altogether. Check out our movie.

The Mintie Challenge

This week we had a Minties challenge in which we had to rip a Mintie wrapper ensuring we kept it in one piece. The person with the longest wrapper was the winner. It was a great measurement activity and really tested out our patience at ripping a wrapper. We are also in the process of graphing our results. Check out our movie on this fun Maths activity.
