1. Are you pleased with your painting? why / why not?
Yes because I did really good in my work, because I stayed inside the lines.

2. What did you find easy when you created your painting?
I found it easy to mix colours together and paint them in each section.

3. What part did you find tricky when you were creating your painting? -think about painting, ruling up the grid, measuring, using the co-ordinates, etc.
I found it tricky to paint in the small lines, I also found it hard to drawing the grid lines.

4. Who / What helped you when you were painting?
Jasmine and Lavinia helped me draw and measure up my grid lines. Miss Nichol and Miss Paton helped me mix up my paints.

5. What would you do differently next time? Think about: colours, painting, ruling up, etc.
Next time I would use a different colour because I would like my painting to be more colourful next time.   

6. What frustrated you when you created your painting?
I got frustrated because it was hard using a thick brush and keeping it steady.

1. Are you pleased with your painting? why / why not?
Yes because I took my time and I tried not to smig my work . I also was the only person to use the colour yellow.

2. What did you find easy when you created your painting?
I find it easy when I was creating my artwork and mixing my chosen colours together in each of the sections.

3. What part did you find tricky when you were creating your painting? -think about painting, ruling up the grid, measuring, using the co-ordinates, etc.
I found it hard to draw the grid line in my work .  It was tricky to not make mistakes while I was ruling out each section. Drawing the shapes was hard because I didn’t know which numbers to put in them.

4. Who / What helped you when you were painting?
My friend Tiare helped me with ruling up my grid, Miss Paton and Miss Nichol helped me mix the colours together.

5. What would you do differently next time? Think about: colours, painting, ruling up, etc.
Next time I would take my time ruling up the grid lines and taking my time painting each section. I would also be careful about the blending of my colours because I didn’t like some of the shades I ended up with.

6. What frustrated you when you created your painting?
It frustrated me to use the paintbrush because it was hard to keep in the lines.

I am proud of my painting because I like the colour I choose and how neat my work is.

2. What did you find easy when you created your painting?
It was easy because I was painting in squares using different shapes of pink and red.

3. What part did you find tricky when you were creating your painting? -think about painting, ruling up the grid, measuring, using the co-ordinates, etc.
The thing that I found tricky was when I did the ruling  up the grid because it was hard measuring out the correct lines.

4. Who / What helped you when you were painting?
Miss Paton and Miss Nichol showed me what I needed to do and Yvette helped me to rule my lines correctly.

5. What would you do differently next time? Think about: colours, painting, ruling up, etc.
The thing I will do differently is taking my time  painting my lines straight.

6. What frustrated you when you created your painting?
The thing that frustrated me the most was all the noise my class was making while I was trying to concentrate.

How I created Composition By Thomas


Equipment  List:
A copy of Friedrich Vordemberge Gildewart painting
An A2 poster sized piece of paper
A 30cm ruler
An HB pencil
An eraser
Acrylic paint- Three colours
Paint brushes
A paint T-shirt




Instructions:
1. Plot dots every 5cm across (horizontally) on the paper.
2. Join the dots together with a ruler.
3. Plot dots every 5cm downwards (vertically) on the paper.
4. Join the dots together with a ruler.
5. Number the squares to find the co-ordinates.
6. Fold the end of the painting so that your paper has the co-ordinates 8 vertically and 11 horizontally.
7. In the bottom left corner with the co-ordinates (7,1) vertically and (2,8) horizontally plot a triangle.
8. Join the dots with a ruler.
9.In the bottom right corner with the co-ordinates (9,8) horizontally to (6,11) vertically.
10. Join the dots with a ruler.
11. In the top left corner plot dots with the co-ordinates (3,1) vertically and (3,1) horizontally.
12. Join the dots with a ruler.
13. Make a triangle with the co-ordinates (4,8), (9,8) horizontally and (7,6) vertically.
14. Join the dots with a ruler.
15. Make a square using the co-ordinates (4,5) horizontally and (4,6).
16. Draw a plot for a square (10,8,7,8).
17. Join the dots with a ruler.
18. Draw a square with the co-ordinates (5,6,7,3).
19. Join the dots with a ruler.
20. Draw a big square with the co-ordinates (5,4,6,3).
21. Join the dots with a ruler.
22. Draw a rectangle with the co-ordinates (3,2) (6,4).
23. Join the dots with a ruler.
24. Draw a rectangle with the co-ordinates (11,1) (7,3)
25. Join the dots with a ruler.
26. Draw a rectangle with the co-ordinates (3,1) (4,6)
27. Join the dots with a ruler.
28. Draw a rectangle with the co-ordinates (1,11) (10,7) (4,7)
29. Join the dots with a ruler.
30. Draw a line with the co-ordinates (4,4) (10,7).
31. Join the dots with a ruler.
32. Draw a line with the co-ordinates (4,1) (10,7)
33. Draw a line with the co-ordinates (8,8) (8,5)
34. Paint it with your different colours using different shades until you are happy with it.

35. Spray it with hairspray to make it nice and shiny.

On Thursday Miss Paton took her Year 5 class and her Year 6 boys to Room 7 to teach Mrs Miller's class how to create special effect pictures. The lesson was very successful and the Room 7 students learnt a lot from their Room 5 friends.

I think that I am very pleased with my artwork because it is painted properly.

2. What did you find easy when you created your painting?

I found rubbing out the grid easy.

What I found tricky was measuring the grid  properly.

I would take my time while I am painting and I will not rush.

1. Are you pleased with your painting? why / why not?
Yes I am pleased with my art because it looks like the master painting but different colours used  
2. What did you find easy when you created your painting?
What I found easy was painting the square.
3. What part did you find tricky when you were creating your painting? -think about painting, ruling up the grid, measuring, using the co-ordinates, etc.
The part I found hard was painting within the lines carefully.



4. Who / What helped you when you were painting?
Miss Paton helped me finish my art work



5. What would you do differently next time? Think about: colours, painting, ruling up, etc.
The thing that I would change would be the colour into lime green.



6. What frustrated you when you created your painting?
What frustrated me was painting the white bits with a small brush because I was kind of getting used to the big brush.
