Making Anzac Biscuits By Caesar

This is my work using google docs. It was fun making Anzac Biscuits.

Last week room 7 and I made Anzac Biscuits. When we made them I felt like I was going to burst up to heaven with my class room 7. We felt very excited and very happy. So we got started making Anzac Biscuits. We needed to start with the ingredients. On the butter there were numbers to tell us how much we needed to cut it. We needed to cut it up to 100 grams, but it didn't have 100 grams on it. On the butter it had 50 and 50 so we added the 50s and made 100-grams. Then we greased the trays. Alex greased the tray so that they don’t stick. Then we got the measuring spoons and poured  the golden syrup into the pot. Then we got the butter and added the butter to the pot. Miss Paton went to the hall kitchen and melted the butter and the golden syrup. Then we put the baking soda into the cup with two tablespoons of water. Then we added the baking soda to the golden syrup.
After that we measured the dry ingredients. It was fun.
Joshua sifted ½ a cup of the white flour and poured it into the measuring cup. Then Liam poured half a cup of sugar into the measuring cup. Avalon poured in the rolled oats. She poured in ¾ cup of rolled oats into the measuring cup. Najib poured in ¾ of coconut into the measuring cup. All of the ingredients that was measured in the measuring cup was poured into the big red bowl. Then Aung Naing mixed the ingredients together. We poured the baking soda into the measuring cup. We poured in half a teaspoon of baking soda into the measuring cup with two tablespoons of boiling hot water. Then we poured the melted butter and golden syrup into the big red bowl. The whole class got a turn to mix the ingredients together. We got to make the Anzac Biscuits into little balls. We put them onto the tray and pushed them down. Miss Paton measured the Anzac Biscuits 4 cm so that they can be apart from each other. We pushed them down with a fork. Miss Paton went to the hall kitchen. She put the Anzac Biscuits in the oven. When they were cooked she put them onto the plates. She came back to Room 7 and put the plates of biscuits onto the red bench. At home time we started to eat them. We enjoyed eating the Anzac Biscuits.

On Thursday morning room 7 made Anzac biscuits with Miss Paton and Mr Engineer.
We put the butter and the golden syrup into the pot.
Miss Paton, Tai and Nazanin took the pot to the hall kitchen.
Miss Paton turned on the oven while Nazanin mixed the butter and the golden syrup together. Then Miss Paton, Tai and Nazanin came back to class.
Joshua measured the flour. Liam measured half a cup of sugar. Avalon poured in the rolled oats. Najib poured in the coconut. Miss Paton poured in half a teaspoon of baking soda and she mixed it with two tablespoons of boiling water. Sanujan and Aung Naing poured in the butter and the golden syrup mixture. Sky, Hajera, Aiden and Jacob rolled the dough into little balls and flattened them down with a fork.

Room 7 worked together as a team in the classroom. Miss Paton helped us to make the Anzac biscuits. After a little while I was so happy that I couldn’t open my eyes. When I first took a bite of the Anzac biscuits they were so delicious. I felt like I was having an Anzac party.
I loved making Anzac biscuits with my class.

Yes we were making Anzac biscuits and the ingredients were on the table. Miss Paton did the roll. After the roll Miss Paton told us to go and wash our hands. After we washed our hands Mele cut the butter 50 grams two times and it made 100 grams. Then Alex got the butter paper that was left over and greased the trays. After that Shailah put one tablespoon of golden syrup. After that Avalon put ¾ cup of rolled oats in the bowl. Najib poured one cup of coconut. After that Liam poured the sugar into the measuring cup. Miss Paton got too put ½ teaspoon of baking soda in a cup and mixed it with 2 tablespoons of water. After that Sanujan poured in the golden syrup then mixture. We all had a turn to mix the ingredients. Aiden, me, Jacob  and Sky rolled the dough into little balls. Juliet, Nyjah and Aiden flattened the mixture with a fork. Miss Paton, Aung Naing, Taylor and Liam put the trays of biscuits in the oven. Mrs Smith helped and she took the trays out of the oven. Aung Naing and Liam got the Anzac biscuits off the trays using a fish slice. After that Aung Naing and Liam got the trays to class and when it was lunch time we all had one each.

The Anzac biscuits were sweet and yummy. The whole class was working well together as a team.

Making Anzac Biscuits By Alex

On Thursday 4th June I was so excited because Room 7 was going to make Anzac biscuits. Miss Paton had brought the ingredients such as butter, baking soda, Flour, sugar, coconut and rolled oats. Miss Paton chose Mele to cut 100 grams of butter but Mele couldn’t cut it all because the butter had been in the fridge and because of the wrapper. It was hard so Miss Paton cut the rest for her.
PhotoPhoto

Then she put some butter on the paper gave me the job of greasing the trays. It was kind of hard to push the butter around because the butter was stone hard. The reason that we had to grease the trays was so the biscuits didn’t stick to the tray. Next Miss Paton said that Shailah could have the job of putting one tablespoon of golden syrup into the pot with the butter.

Then Miss Paton took Nazanin and Tai to the kitchen with the pot that had the butter and the golden syrup in. When they got there they put the pot on top of the stove. They turned it on and when it started to melt, they stirred it but they were careful not to tip it over. When they finished melting it, they came back and Miss Paton let Joshua pour ½ a cup of flour in the bowl. Then she let Liam put ½ a cup of sugar into the bowl. After that Avalon got to put ¾ of a cup of rolled oats into the bowl and Najib got to put ¾ of a cup of coconut in it as well. After that PhotoPhoto

Miss Paton put half a teaspoon of baking soda in the pot with two tablespoons of boiling water. Then after that Sanujan poured the melted butter and golden syrup that was in the pot into the bowl. Then everyone mixed the ingredients together and after it was mixed Miss Paton took out a ruler and measured 4 centimetres and said to Sky, Hajera, Juliet, Nyjah, Jacob, Aiden and Taylor that you have to measure 4 centimeters and then put the biscuit down with a spoon and squash it down with a fork. When they finished Miss Paton took the biscuits to the oven that was in the school hall.Photo

She asked Mrs Smith to look after the biscuits that were in the in the oven. When they were baked she took the biscuits from the oven and put them on a table in the class. When we counted the biscuits we had there weren’t enough for everyone so we had to make another batch of biscuits. When they were all cooked nearly all the students got two. The people that didn’t get two biscuits were the naughty students. When I tasted my biscuit it was like a burst of flame going up in my mouth except it wasn’t fire it was the deliciousness of the the golden syrup and butter. Most of the students in Room 7 got two biscuits.Photo

It was a very good day when we made Anzac Biscuits. I was so happy and my head was going to pop in the air. Miss Paton took the ingredients out of the a plastic bag. Mele was cut the 100 grams of butter and Shailah put one tablespoon of golden syrup in the pot. Alex greased the trays. Miss Paton put the butter in the pot then Tai and Nazanin went with Miss Paton to the kitchen to melt the butter and the golden syrup in the pot. Joshua put the flour in the bowl then Liam put the sugar in the bowl. Avalon poured ¾ cup  of rolled oats into the bowl.

Najib poured half a cup of coconut into the bowl. I mixed the dough.  Aiden, Sky, Jacob, Hajera, Juliet, Nyjah and Aiden rolled the dough into little balls. I went with Miss Paton to put the trays into the oven. Liam and Taylor came to the hall kitchen to put the tray in the oven. When they were cook Mrs Smith took them out of the oven. Me, Liam and Taylor put the biscuits on the plates. Then me, Liam, Taylor and Miss Paton took the biscuits back to class. When it was lunch time Miss Paton gave us an Anzac Biscuit. It tasted yum. I think I was walking on the moon. Making Anzac Biscuits was fun. My teacher is the best because we get to make Anzac Biscuits.

This is my recount of Making Anzac biscuits. At the beginning I had to use an exciting hook.

Anzac Biscuits Recount By Marieta

Today I have made a recount about my ANZAC biscuits I really love making them in my life

My time making Anzac Biscuits!!!!!

“Yummy!” I said to Nyjah when we were about to make Anzac biscuits. I was almost about to scream out loud saying WOOHOO!!!!. We all worked as a team together.

The first thing we had to do was to get 100 grams of butter. We did this by adding 50 grams and 50 grams together. There were two segments because 50 grams + 50 grams = 100 grams. It was hard for Mele to cut the butter so Miss Paton helped Mele by cutting the butter first. Mele put the butter into the pot. Then the next thing we had to do was add in one tablespoon of golden syrup into the pot. Shailah had this job.

After that Miss Paton took Nazanin and shailah to melt the butter and golden syrup on top of the stove while Mr Engineer read to us a story about World War one.

The next thing we had to do was to mix the flour, sugar, rolled oats, coconut together. Then we had to add ½ teaspoon of baking soda and two tablespoons of boiling water. Miss Paton mixed this in a cup.

Then it was my favourite time. We had to mix all the ingredients together. When it was mixed nicely we had to get the dough and put it on the tray. We had to measure the biscuits 4 centimetres apart. We rolled the dough into balls and flattened it with a fork.

But as soon we were finished they were 20 biscuits. So what we did was to make 1 more batch so we could have enough.

Miss Paton took Aung Naing, Liam and Taylor to the hall kitchen to put the biscuits into the oven.

When it was lunch time Miss Paton came back with the biscuits. Everyone was happy when the biscuits were ready. We took one biscuit at lunch time and had another biscuit before we went home.

When I tasted the biscuits it tasted like coconut with melted butter. I felt like I was in heaven with beautiful flowers moving around for me.

After that Miss Paton photocopied the recipe so that room 7 could show their parents, what they made at school. I had a really fun time making Anzac biscuits.

Making Anzac Biscuits By Jacob

Hooray today is the day to make anzac biscuits with my class. I felt so excited I was in the my own little world when we were making Anzac biscuits. First Mele was holding a sharp butter knife ready to cut 100 grams of  butter and put it into the pot. Then we poured 1 tablespoon of  golden syrup in the pot. The golden syrup was so golden it was golden than treasure. Then Alex was greasing the butter on to the trays .Then Tai and Nazanin took the pot to the hall kitchen to melt the butter and the golden syrup together.

Then Miss Paton poured the baking soda into the cup. Then the teacher aide Mrs Smith came in with a cup full of boiling water so we didn’t touch it. Then we put the white flour and white sugar and rolled oats also coconut into the bowl. Room 7 mixed it round and round until the mixture was ready to be rolled into lots of balls. Aiden, Sky, Hajera and me rolled the mixture into little balls then we had to flatten them down with a fork and put them onto the trays. Miss Paton chose some helpers to carry the trays to the hall kitchen. Miss Paton and the helpers came back to class and made another batch. Miss Paton and the helpers went to the hall kitchen and
went back to class with the cookies. When I first tasted them they tasted so yummy in my mouth. They felt rough. We had to think of words that described the Anzac biscuits. The words were delicious, yummy, healthy,
sweet, scrumptious and crumbly.

Making Anzac Biscuits By Shailah

WOW, I said when we made Anzac Biscuits. When the Anzac Biscuits went in my mouth I was looking into space.
Thursday morning Miss Paton put a lot of ingredients onto the table. The bell went and we started making the Anzac Biscuits. Everyone had a role.
First  we needed 100 grams of butter but we only had 50 grams so then we cut 2 sets of 50’s and it made 100 grams, because 50 grams + 50 grams = 100 grams. Then Alex greased the trays so the cookies would not stick to the trays. Then I poured in the golden syrup into the pot. After that Nazanin and Tai took the pot to the kitchen hall so Miss Paton could melt the butter and golden syrup. They we went to go and get some boiling water. Mrs Smith came into the kitchen. Joshua had to measure the white flour. After Joshua poured in the flour Liam poured half a cup of white sugar. Avalon put ¾ cup of rolled oats  into the bowl. Lastly Miss Paton measured half a teaspoon of baking soda with 2 tablespoons of boiling water. She then added it to the melted butter and golden syrup. Then we stirred the mixture. We put them into balls and pressed down on them. Miss Paton got a ruler and checked if it was 4 centimetres away from each cookie. Aiden, Hajera, Jacob and Sky rolled the dough into little balls. Juliet, Nyjah and Aiden flattened the mixture with a fork. Aung Naing and Liam Taylor took the trays to the hall kitchen. The biscuits took ten minutes to cook. Taylor, Liam and Aung Naing were in the kitchen watching the biscuits cook. Mrs Smith helped to get the biscuits out of the oven. Aung Naing, Taylor and Liam scraped the biscuits off the tray and put them onto the plates. After lunch time we got to eat the biscuits. They tasted like a very soft chunk of Syrup.

Liam's Anzac Biscuits Recount

This is a writing poster of how to make Anzac biscuits.I was learning to make a recipe story to know how we made the biscuits.

It was a very exciting day to make Anzac biscuits. I was waiting and waiting so patiently I was going to burst in the air. Miss Paton couldn't wait to show room 7 all the ingredients and introduce to them to the equipment. I knew that making Anzac biscuits will be a fun activity for the delightful room 7, as they were learning about reading fractions and making the accurate measurements.

I really liked how room 7 were working together as a team. The first thing that Mele did was measuring the butter to 100 grams. She learnt it by using the wrappers measurements. Each segment was 50 grams. Mele combined two segments to make 100 grams of butter. It was a tough job to cut the butter for Mele. Miss Paton helped Mele without any trouble. Alex got a turn by greasing the butter around the trays so the biscuits wouldn't get stuck and Shailah got to pour in a tablespoon of golden syrup. Nazanin and Tai were helping Miss Paton melt the butter and syrup together. They were trying to be careful not to touch the hot stove when stirring both of the ingredients together. Miss Paton was walking slowly and carefully to room 7.

When she brought in the melted butter Joshua got to measure and pour half a cup of white flour into the bowl. I got a turn by tipping in half a cup of sugar and pouring it into the red bowl. Avalon was now pouring in ¾ of rolled oats into the measuring cup. Then Najib gets to pour in ¾ of a cup of coconut into the bowl. Miss Paton showed us how to tip in ½ a teaspoon of baking soda into 2 tablespoons of water. Hajera, Jacob, Aiden and sky got to place down a bit of some dough on to both trays. Miss Paton chose me and Taylor to take the trays to the hall kitchen. When we went into the hall kitchen Miss Paton got some oven mittens and put one batch of biscuits into the oven. Miss Paton went back to class and got more people to make two more batches. When she came back Miss Paton brought Aung Naing to help her with the two trays. When the biscuits were ready we got a spatula and took them all off the trays until they were all hard. Miss Paton got out some plates and we placed the biscuits onto the plates. After they were placed down onto the plates we carefully took them to room 7 and put them down on the draws, while the rest of room 7 worked on their Anzac biscuits brainstorm. At lunchtime Miss Paton gave out a biscuit each. The biscuits tasted so crumbly and also crispy when I tasted them.

Making Anzac Biscuits By Juliet

“Wow this looks so yummy!!!’’ as I was going to  taste it I thought that my whole body was going to pop. When I saw them I was feeling that I was going to jump high. When I first took my first bite of the Anzac Biscuits I was going to scream!!!. I really liked the activity that my teacher gave us .I think that my teacher Miss Paton should get something special for giving the class a special activity which is making ANZAC BISCUITS !!! “Woohoo!!!”

When we were starting to make the Anzac biscuits Miss Paton gave Mele a job to do. Her job was to cut 100 grams of butter. Mele had to cut 50 and 50 to make 100 grams. When I saw her cut the butter I thought that it was really hard for her because she had a sharp knife in her hand. It was hard for her because when she was cutting the butter the wrapper made it hard for her, so Miss Paton did the rest of the job. Then Miss Paton gave Alex a job to do. He had to grease the two trays with the butter that was on the wrapper. When Alex was greasing the tray with butter, Shailah had to pour 1 tablespoon of golden syrup into the measuring spoon. Then she poured it into the pot. After that Miss Paton asked Nazanin and Tai to go with her to the hall kitchen to put the pot over the stove. Nazanin was stirring the butter and the golden syrup together in the pot that was over the stove.  When Miss Paton, Tai and Nazanin came back with the pot Joshua was poured ½ a cup of white flour into the measuring cup. When it was Liam’s turn, his job was to pour ½ a cup of white sugar. Then Avalon  poured ¾ of a cup of rolled oats into the cup. Next Najib poured ¾ cup of coconut into the measuring cup. Miss Paton scooped ½ a teaspoon of baking soda. Then she poured the baking soda into the cup with the water. She added this to the golden syrup and butter. Next Sanujan poured the melted butter and the golden syrup into the dry ingredients. After that everyone got a turn at mixing the ingredients together in the big red bowl. When it came to the last person, Miss Paton took the bowl and just gave it the final stir. When she was finished Miss Paton showed us how to roll the mixture into a ball and flatten it down onto the trays. The people who had this role were Aiden, Hajera, Jacob and Sky. They rolled the dough into little balls and Nyjah and me flattened the dough with a fork. Miss Paton took Liam, Taylor and Aung Naing to the hall kitchen to put the two trays in the oven. When they were in the hall kitchen the biscuits were cooking. Aung Naing and Liam put the Anzac Biscuits onto the plate. After that Miss Paton came into the classroom with the Anzac Biscuits. She put the Anzac Biscuits on  the red bench. When Miss Paton put the plates on the bench the whole class waited until lunch time was over. Miss Paton  gave the Anzac Biscuits to the people who were sitting beautifully at their tables. Then Miss Paton got the second plate of Anzac Biscuits. When she came to my table I grabbed an Anzac Biscuit. When I tasted the Anzac Biscuits I was feeling as if my head was going to pop. When we finished eating our Anzac Biscuits, Miss Paton saved the leftover biscuits. She let Mr Engineer chose students who were good at the end of the day to have an extra biscuit.
This is my writing it's about Making Anzac Biscuits. I also had to write a hook about Making Anzac Biscuits.

On Monday Mrs Eeles worked with Room 7. The class had a wonderful time singing, playing the ukulele and playing on the xylophone. Mr Johnston filmed the class as they were so good on his cellphone. Check out the amazing musicians.

Making Anzac Biscuits By Sanujan

This is my recount on making Anzac biscuits. I have got the ingredients that we need to make the biscuits and the person who had the a role at measuring the ingredients and cooking of the biscuits.

                     Making Anzac Biscuits

“Yippee!!”, I shouted in my mind with happiness and joy. I can’t wait to make Anzac biscuits I said to myself. This is the best day of my life that I never had. First Miss Paton introduced the ingredients that we were going to use and I really liked working together as a team.

First Mele had to cut 100 grams of butter. Each each piece had 50 grams and to make 100 grams she cut out 2 segments to make 100 grams.
50 grams + 50 grams = 100 grams. Then Miss Paton scraped a small piece from the butter and gave it to Alex to grease the trays so that the Anzac biscuits didn't stick on the trays. After that Shailah had to pour 1 tablespoon of golden syrup into the pot and then Miss Paton took the pot to the hall kitchen. Tai and Nazanin help Miss Paton to melt the butter and the golden syrup together stove top while Mr Engineer read us a book. Then Joshua had to pour ½ cup of white flour into the measuring cup and Joshua also had to pour it in the big and giant bowl. Then Liam had to pour ½ cup of white sugar into the measuring cup. After that Avalon poured in ¾ cup of rolled oats and then Najib had his turn to pour in ¾ cup of coconut into the measuring cup. He also poured the coconut into the big red bowl. Then we all had turns to stir the mixture. Aung Naing had his turn first then the bowl went around. After everyone had their turn to stir the mixture,
Miss Paton chose Jacob, Aiden, Hajera and Sky to flatten the mixture with a fork. Juliet, Nyjah and Aiden flattened the Anzac biscuit dough.

When they looked good Aung Naing, Taylor and Liam went with Miss Paton to the hall kitchen to bake the Anzac biscuits. After they had baked, the chefs took the Anzac biscuits out of the oven and scraped them off the trays. They placed them onto some plates. When I tasted them I felt the crunch of the biscuits and the rich golden syrup flavour that melted in my mouth. They tasted delicious and I felt like I was floating in space and traveling to Mars, Jupiter and Neptune. I was about to pop like popcorn in the microwave when I tasted the second biscuit .

Making ANZAC Biscuits

Today we made ANZAC Biscuits. We made them because we are studying World War 1 at the moment. This biscuit reminds us of the war and was sent to the troops that fought in the war. In writing, we are learning to follow recipes and to identify the features of a recipe. In Maths we are learning to identify fractions and today we had to read fractions and make accurate measurements using a measuring cup and spoons. This was the perfect activity for us.

De Niro has fun at the zoo

“This is a beautiful day,” I said to my friends. Panmure Bridge school went to the Auckland Zoo. At the zoo we all had to have a map so we didn't get lost. The first thing we saw were the giraffes and zebras. Then we saw the rhino, it was so so big. I liked watching the spider monkey`s because they could jump off a tree top, down to another low tree. There were so many animals at the zoo we almost saw everyone of the animals. The helper’s were Emmy (Alex’s mum) Amelia (Juliet’s Aunty) Diana (Shailah's sister) and Mrs Linda. We all went and saw the baboons. When we saw them they had pink bottoms like a cherry. After we saw the baboons we all went and saw the lions. It was so fun at the zoo because we got to see  the alligator. The animal I wanted to see was the spiders. We all went to see Burma the elephant. Burma was trying to pick up a small log. After we saw the elephant we sat down under  the shade shelter. We had our morning tea. After we ate our morning tea we had to fill in a little booklet. Then we saw the meerkats. The meerkats had small heads and small feet. We could go into a dark tunnel with windows so we could see all the meerkats. Next to the meerkats were the otters. There were only three otters because the other otters were hiding from us. After the otters we went and saw the orangutans. One of the orangutans was covered in lots of hair. There was one orangutan eating leaves off a tree branch. We went and saw Molique the tiger. She could climb up a wooden pole up to the top. At the end Molique came and sat down by us. She was watching us sitting by her. Molique was the last animal we got to see. Then we all went back to the school and wrote about  the zoo trip until the bell rang for home time. At the zoo felt so excited because I really wanted to see was the spiders.

Aiden's time at Auckland Zoo

This is my recount of the zoo trip.

I felt happy when we went to the zoo. First we went to the shade shelter to listen to the rules and to find out when our tour time was. There were parent helpers that looked after us. They were Emmy (Alex's mum) Diana (Sheilah's sister) Amelia (Juliet’s) Aunty. We went to Pridelands first. I saw giraffes, ostriches and zebra. The giraffes had very long necks and legs. Next we saw a very great Rhino. The rhino was big and I liked it’s horn.  We saw girl lions across from the rhino enclosure. One was just lying on the ground and the other one was behind the bush. The Flamingoes had long legs as long as a stick.
On the zoo trip we saw american alligators, turtles,  orangutan, lions, tigers, camouflaged  geckos, lizards, spider monkeys, zebra, hippos, penguins, seals, giraffes and an elephant. The Elephant was big. I learnt that lizards can blend in with the branches of trees and how we can't actually find them. We actually  got to sit by the window of the tiger enclosure.  We  saw a video of the daddy tiger doing two jumps to get up on to the rope to get the  bone. The Dad tiger was right by the mummy tiger. Laura said this was the last animal we  saw.  My favourite animal was the rhino because he was fat like a hippopotames.

My time at Auckland Zoo By Marieta

On Thursday the 7th we went to the zoo I loved seeing all the animals at the zoo.

At 9:00am the whole class went to the zoo. I was so happy when we were there. When we arrived there, we had to wait till room 3 went outside. Then room 3 went outside to enter the zoo so room 7 can came out to go throw the zoo gate. After that we all came to the shade shelter to sit down. Then a lady called Laura came to told us that we should not go thru the gate to feel the animals. The animals we saw were the meerkats, orangutans, alligator, flamingos, ostriches, tiger, lion, elephant, hippo, giraffes, tortoise, baboons, spring bok, zebras, rhinos, penguins, spider monkey’s,lizards. The people who came with us we're Emmy [Alex’s mum] Diana [Shailah's sister] Amelia [Juliet’s Aunty] and Mrs Linda. The first animal we saw were the giraffes, ostrich, zebra. The giraffe’s neck was as long as sausage. After that, I was happy when we went to see Burma the elephant. She was my favourite animal of all. When we saw Burma it was morning tea. So we sat down under the shelter and ate our morning tea while watching Burma play around with a log. After that we went to see the lion’s. There was just a lion just sitting there watching us and another lion walking around. The lion was brave as a rhino helping other lion’s if they were in trouble or hurt. Then we went to see the turtles. They were eating leaves and carrots. When we saw the cheetahs, they were on their own sit looking at us. When we came up to my third favourite animal, the baboon’s they were very funny. Then the baboon family came out with a baby baboon. “It was so cute” I said to myself. When we went to the next animal we saw were the seals. I was happy when we were there. The seals were swimming round and round until they couldn't stop going round in circles. The next animal we saw were the meerkats. They could stare at us like an eagle steering at a worm. Then it was time for us to go and see the big and the strong orangutans. They were so cool. They could swing to another rope. Now it was time for our lunch under the Band Rotunda. The next scary animal was the alligator it was camouflaged in the green seaweed in the water. I could not see it but I saw the leg part of the alligator. Then we all went to sat down on grass to listen to Ms Kirkpatrick. She asked us if we had a good time looking at the animals. When we were there Laura came to take us on a tour. We saw the orangutans and the spider monkeys on our tour. Laura said that sometimes they can trick the orangutans by putting their food in pillowcases. The orangutans can try to untie the knot of the pillowcases. This trick was much harder to do with spider monkeys. When we got to see the spider monkeys I was happy. Laura said “The spider monkeys are very good at swinging on ropes”. Then we went and saw the tiger Molique. She was beautiful and nice. She came and sat next to us. We were staring through the window so we could all see Molique. After that it was time to go home. So we went on a different bus instead of the same one. I sat next to my best friend Riley. We played some games on the bus. We finally arrived back at school. Miss Paton said we could go onto our Chromebooks and write a recount about the zoo trip. It was fun. I had a wonderful day looking at the amazing animals. I learnt so much and it was the best day ever.

Hajera's time at the zoo

On Thursday 7th May Panmure Bridge School went to Auckland Zoo.

Photo
Last Thursday we went to the zoo and saw heaps of animals. The animals I saw were turtles, lions, red pandas, tigers, meerkats, ostrich, giraffes, zebras, spider monkeys, cheetahs, rhinos, flamingoes.

The tiger came close to us by the window. It was lying down and it was licking itself. Then we saw the penguins. The penguins were not coming out. The seal’s were doing some tricks. Then we saw the red pandas. They were sitting in the tree all the time. We saw the monkeys and meerkats. The meerkats were just staring and digging.

My time at the Zoo

On Thursday May 7th Panmure Bridge School went to Auckland Zoo. This is my recount about the fabulous time I had at the zoo exploring all of the animals.

Photo

I enjoyed the zoo today it was the best trip I’ve been on. The helpers were Emmy, Amelia and Diana Shailah's sister. We had to hop on the bus. All the of the class had to sit down and wait to go Pridelands. The first out of all the animals I saw in Pridelands were the giraffes. The giraffes necks were like long trees. Only one girl giraffe was eating leaves out of a cage box. After the giraffes we then saw the zebras. We could only see two zebras. One zebra was out drinking water and the other zebra was in a shade shelter.  The next animal we saw were the flamingoes. One of their legs were as thick as a line. The next animal was saw was the rhino. The rhino had sharp horns, as sharp as a knife. Then we saw was Burma the elephant. She was as big as a balloon. So then we ate some morning tea and carried on to see the rhino. After the rhino, we went to see the turtles. The turtles were surprised to see us because two more turtles came out to see us. After this we went to see the baboons. The Baboons made me laugh. There was a cute little baby baboon. It was with it’s mother tucked away. After the baboons we then saw servals and seals.

The meerkats and the red panda were the next animals we saw. They were very cute and furry. The Meerkats eyes looked like black eye liner. They were nice meerkats to me. Next we had lunch under the Band Rotunda tower. After lunch we went on our tour with Laura to see the orangutans. The tour was fun and we touched a snake skin. I thought the zoo trip was fun. The last animal we saw was the tiger. Laura told us where to go to see the tiger. The tiger’s name was Molique. She was very nice and a bit funny. Molique’s stripes were as black as paint. She had very sharp teeth. They were also long. She was dangerous. After watching Molique we went back to our meeting place and got ready to go back to school. I really enjoyed the zoo trip. It was fun.
