Making Chocolate Recount By Jack

Making Chocolate Easter Treats

Today LS1 made chocolate Easter Treats. We used
/ A Plate, A Pot, A Jug of hot water, A Spoon, Some Moulds, A Packet Of Chocolate droppings, A Butter Knife And A Fridge
We had to wait for the jug of cold water to boil so my group just talked. In my group there was Abdurahim, Tai, Ta’ani and Dallas. Eventually the water boiled and Miss Paton poured some water into our pot and we put the plate over the pot and left some chocolate on the plate to melt. While the chocolate was melting we had to stir the chocolate until there were no more lumps left. After the chocolate was melted we put the chocolate in the moulds one by one. We had to leave the chocolate in a fridge for 2 days. After the first day we had to wrap the chocolate in tin foil and then we left it in the fridge for another day, and the next day they were ready to eat. It was fun making the chocolates I hope we could we could do it again.

Making Easter Eggs Recount

Easter Recount

Who: Ls1, Miss Paton
When: Tuesday morning
Why: because it was Easter
Where:Ls1

On Tuesday morning Group B made chocolates with Miss Paton in Ls1. We made chocolates, because it was Easter! We split up in a group of 4 people. When the water was boiling, When the water was boiled Miss Paton put the hot water into a pot. Next she placed a plate on top. After that she put chocolate buttons on top of the plate. When the chocolate was  almost melted the lovely aroma went up my nose. When all the chocolate was melted there was a strong creamy smell around the Learning Space. Then we had to pour the runny chocolate into the moulds. The chocolate splattered everywhere! When all the chocolate was finished and all the moulds were full, someone from each group had to get the group’s tray, and put it into the hall kitchen’s fridge. Then we waited till the next day. When we took them out of the fridge my group couldn't find our chocolates! At least we found some spare chocolates. “Phew,” I said.  When I plopped the chocolate in my mouth, it was so creamy.

Angela's Self Portrait

Reflecting on my Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein themed portrait

DSC09654.JPG

1. Are you pleased with your Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein themed portrait? why / why not?
I am really pleased with my Artwork because I really love the colours I haved used for my artworks.

2. What did you find easy when you created your Pop Art portrait? I found it easy when I was colouring my Roy Lichtenstein self portrait.

3. What part did you find tricky when you were creating your portrait? -think about tracing round your face, outlining your face using a black marker pen, dabbing areas using the dye, dying the background, dotting your areas, colouring block areas and lettering.
Tracing round my face was hard.

4. Who / What helped you when you were creating your Pop Art portrait?
First Miss Paton explained to us how to do it then we did it by ourselves

5. What would you do differently next time? Think about: tracing around your face, features on your face, dabbing the dye colours, colour choice, photograph, time management skills, dotting your paper, colouring in block areas, lettering.
Next time I would undo my pony tail and have my hair out so that it looks natural.

6. What frustrated you when you created your Andy Warhol  and Roy Lichtenstein themed art work?
The Andy Warhol themed artwork frustrated me when it came to dying the background. I had to be careful not to smudge other areas. The Roy Lichtenstein frustrated me when it came to doing the dots. I had fun and I hope that I could do this some other time.

The Haunted House Narrative By Alex

“Eeek! was that bonnie?”
“I think so” Jacob said. Mannnnn we shouldn’t have gone after his “stupid” sister. It was her own fault that she broke the game and she got sucked into it. Jacob kept up the pace and said “ My parents are going to kill me if she doesn’t come back” and added “Personally I couldn’t care less.”

Ahhhh! screamed Ashley regretting every moment she played the game and getting angry at it. It was actually her fault that they had all fallen in the game and she knew it. She hated herself for being such a sore loser. Suddenly she heard Chica’s creepy laugh and knew she was onto her. She screamed out “Jacob!, Max help me!”.

Jacob immediately started to run towards the voice with me right behind him. When we got there Chica was almost upon her so I grabbed a pole and  whacked chica straight in the kisser. So her stupid robot head went flying off and stuck in a wall. While Jacob reunited with his sister I went and pulled Chica’s head out the wall and squashed it with the pole. “So” I said to Ashley who was still looking cautiously at the severed head “Still feel angry at the game or your self?”

Five minutes later when we were making a plan to escape the chica body suddenly stood up and walk towards us then…… it fell down. “Bwha ha ha ha ha!” we all laughed at the pathetic try from the robot, when we finally stopped laughing I said “This is night 2 right?” “Yep” so that means no Freddy, no foxy, only Bonnie and good al’ chica over there. “Hahahahahahahahaha”.

Boossshhhhh! booooommmm! bannnggg!  “Ummmm…..... who made that noise?”as we all slowly turned around, the Bonnie threw chunks of the wall and squashed them.

The children or their bodies were never found so the police gave up and till this very day their ghosts roam the halls of Five Nights At Freddy’s.

Angari's KWL Chart on Tuataras

Today in LS1 we were put in our reading groups. We had to make a KWL. K stands for what I know, the W stands for what I want to learn and the L stands for what I learnt. We had to talk about our subject which is Tuataras. First we had to write what we know about Tuataras, then without looking at our books we had to write questions about what we want to know. Then we read our books and typed what we learnt. I had lots of fun doing this with my reading groups.

Creating Self Portraits based on the work of Andy Warhol

During the last three weeks we have been learning about the Pop Art era. We have been learning to create self portraits based on the artist Andy Warhol. We had our photographs taken and then we traced over our photographs. After this we traced over our pencil lines using a vivid. Then Miss Paton photocopied our portraits so we could have four masters to use. Two for the Andy Warhol artwork and two for Roy Lichtenstein. We are looking forward to mounting our artworks.

At the beach. Narrative by Mele

Orientation
One Summer holiday there lived a family called the Williams family. The mother’s name was Melody, the father's name was Nicky and the daughter’s name was Fiona. They lived in New York next to Time Square. The one thing that Fiona hated was the heat in New York. The other thing that Fiona loved was dancing. Every time it was hot in New York Fiona and her parents always liked going to the beach for a swim.  Nicky decided to go for a swim at the beach so he asked his family whether they wanted to go to the beach. Everyone said yes. So they found their swimming things and headed off for the beach.

As they arrived the beach was high tide and Fiona went for a swim straight away. The tide was rough and had big waves. She went passed the flag without the lifeguard knowing. The tide swept her away.

Her father noticed Fiona had been swept away so he ran and told the lifeguard. The lifeguard immediately called other lifeguards for help. They got the rescue boat and out they went searching for Fiona. While Fiona was waiting for the lifeguards to come and save her she felt something that touched her leg so she screamed out  from far away ”Dad I need help”. Nicky didn’t even hear her. So Fiona yelled again “Dad help me”.  Nicky heard her so he said “Wait the life guards are coming to save you”.

As the lifeguards got there on the rescue boat Fiona nearly drowned. One of the lifeguards grabbed her by the hand and lifted  her up to the boat. As they brought her to the sand her parents were happy that they rescued her. Fiona was relieved at the end. They first gave her first aid and thought that she had swallowed a lot of water but she was fine. At last the family were relieved that Fiona was rescued and she appreciated what the lifeguards had done. The family thanked the lifeguards and thought that Fiona would not have made it without the lifeguards.

This is my narrative story I wrote. I had to write a fiction story about the beach. First I wrote the orientation. I also had to add some characters in my narrative.

Learning Space 1's Birthdays

Today I have learnt to create a graph using Google Spreadsheets. It was fun to see which months were celebrated the most, least and same in Learning Space 1.

The month that was celebrated the most was April. There were nine birthdays celebrated in April. The month that was celebrated the least was December. There were two birthdays celebrated in December. March, July and November had the same number of birthdays celebrated in. May and September had four birthdays celebrated. June and August had seven birthdays celebrated. January and October had five birthdays celebrated. Birthdays in Learning Space 1 were celebrated early in the year. This graph shows a pattern going up and down.
